Early Morning Notes/Expectations
Early Games
QB Carson Palmer (right elbow) has already been ruled out for this week’s contest. Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to start in his place.
QB Jon Kitna (back) did not practice the entire week, and at this point it can be assumed that he will not play this week. Dan Orlovsky is expected to start in his place this week.
RB Willis McGahee returned to full practices on Thursday and Friday. He is expected to start, but as has been the case since his return from the arthroscopic knee procedure, he will give way to LeRon McClain in short yardage and goal line situations.
RB Darren McFadden was limited in his reps from Wednesday to Friday’s practice sessions. His role for this week’s contests is as questionable as his official designation (questionable). Since he didn’t participate fully in Friday’s practice, starting him this week is a risky proposition. RB Justin Fargus is back and expected to start for the Raiders.
WR Brandon Lloyd is likely to be inactive this week. He missed the entire week of practice, which makes Rashid Davis and Devon Hester decent plays this week.
WR Joey Galloway (foot) has already been ruled inactive. Galloway practiced on Wednesday and Friday in a limited fashion, it could be another week or two before he’s ready to return. Antonio Bryant and Ike Hillard are expected to start.
WR Roddy White (head) moves into the questionable category after missing his second consecutive practice on Friday. White was involved with a mid week practice collision with a team mate. He’s considered a game time decision.
WR Laurent Robinson missed the entire week of practice and will likely be inactive this week.
Although WR Anthony Gonzalez is still listed as questionable (conclusion), Gonzalez practiced on Friday for the second consecutive day. He is expected to resume his role as the 3rd or slot receiver.
WR Marques Colston (thumb) practiced on a limited basis throughout the week. He could sneak into a role for today’s game, although our gut tells us that it will be another week before we see Colston in the starting lineup.
WR David Patten (groin) missed the week of practice and will undoubtedly be an inactive for week 6. Look for Devery Henderson and Lance Moore to get the start this week.
WR Bernard Berrian (knee) returned to practice (albeit limited) on Friday. A good indication that he’ll likely start against the Lions in week 6.
WR Laveranues Coles was limited in each of the team’s 3 practices this week with a thigh injury. Coles typically misses practice time only to start on Sunday, this week should be no different
WR Roy Williams (hip) is listed a questionable on the official injury report. After a limited practice on Thursday, Williams was held out on Friday. Williams however is expected to start.
WR Calvin Johnson (knee) is listed a questionable on the official injury report. After a limited practice on Thursday, Johnson was held out on Friday. Johnson however is expected to start.
WR Drew Bennett (foot) will once again be inactive this week. Look for WR Donnie Avery to start in his place.
WR Sidney Rice (knee) is listed as questionable on the official NFL injury report. Rice went through practice this week on a limited basis. He’s a game time decision leaning on starting.
TE Jeremy Shockey (hernia) returned for some limited activity this week, but was held out on Friday. An indication that he’ll be inactive again this week.
K Shayne Graham (groin) missed practice on Thursday and Friday, making his status for this week’s contest a tenuous one. The Bengals signed Dave Rayner on Saturday, but there is still some question whether or not Graham will still attempt FGs. Look for his status to be updated prior to game time.
Late Games
QB Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) has been limited this week, but is still expected to start today against the Seahawks.
QB Matt Hasselbeck missed the entire week of practice. At this point everything is pointing to Hasselbeck being inactive this week against the Green Bay Packers. Charlie Frye is expected to start.
RB Selvin Young (groin) has been ruled out of this week’s contest against the Jaguars. Michael Pittman is expected to start.
RB Maurice Morris practiced fully this week from start to finish. Julius Jones will likely get more of the carries this week, so hold off on putting Morris back into your starting lineup this week.
RB Brian Westbrook has been ruled out of this week’s contest against the 49ers. RB Correll Buckhalter is expected to start in his place.
WR Eddie Royal (ankle) was limited in practices throughout the week, including Friday’s practice. Royal is likely to be inactive or limited this week. WR Darrell Jackson will likely start opposite Brandon Marshall with Brandon Stokley seeing considerable action out of the slot position.
WR Anquan Boldin (head) was ruled out of his week 6 contest on Friday. WR Steve Breaston is expected to once again start in his place.
WR Reggie Brown (groin) missed the week of practice and on Friday was ruled out of the week 6 contest. Although Kevin Curtis has practiced this week, it’s likely that both DeSean Jackson and Hank Baskett will start.
WR Deion Branch (heel) missed the week of practice and is not expected to play. Undervalued WR Bobby Engram is expected to start in his place.
WR James Jones (knee) missed the week of practice and will likely be inactive for Sunday’s contest. WR Jordy Nelson is expected to fill in.

WR Donte’ Stallworth practiced in full pads the entire week, and barring a setback he should make his 2008 debut this week.
